Netflix’s KPop Demon Hunters is headed to theaters for two days
Get ready to see KPop Demon Hunters on the big screen! This animated Netflix hit has taken the world by storm, reportedly becoming the second most-watched movie on the service, right behind Red Notice. Now, fans have a special chance to experience it in theaters with a limited-time sing-along event. Not only is the film incredibly popular, but its music is too, with the song “Golden” even hitting number one on the Billboard Hot 100.
So, what’s KPop Demon Hunters all about? It’s a musical centered on the girl group Huntr/x – and yes, they’re literally demon hunters! This current trio uses their powerful singing voices to uphold the Honmoon, an ancient magical barrier created by previous generations of singing demon hunters to keep our world safe from demonic threats. They also face off against the Saja Boys, a rival K-Pop boy band who just happen to be good-looking demons. The ultimate villain is Gwi-Ma, the ruler of all demons, voiced by none other than Lee Byung-hun, famously known as the Front Man from Squid Game.
Mark your calendars! This special theatrical run is only for one weekend, from August 23rd to 24th, at select cinemas across the U.S. and Canada. Tickets go on sale starting today, August 13th, at 9 AM Eastern Time. You can snag yours and find a full list of participating theaters and showtimes in your area on the event’s official website.
