Covalent Celebrates Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day with Skunkworks AI Launch and The Hub Inauguration

The festivities saw the official launch of ‘Skunkworks,’ an exciting new division, and the inauguration of their state-of-the-art facility, ‘The Hub.’

Skunkworks emerges as a highly agile division within Covalent, dedicated to leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to rapidly develop and deploy groundbreaking products. True to its name, Skunkworks has already made significant strides, onboarding multiple large enterprises and delivering industry-first innovations in remarkably short timeframes – often in just days or weeks.

Among Skunkworks’ inaugural innovations is ‘Ava,’ an advanced omnichannel virtual assistant. Powered by Generative AI, Ava boasts an impressive suite of features, including built-in intent recognition, voice input and output capabilities, and seamless API integration. Designed to learn about an organization and its services on the fly, Ava also offers enhanced persona management, all while adhering to the stringent banking-grade security measures synonymous with Covalent. Already making waves, Ava has been adopted for internal use by a prominent progressive bank in Pakistan and a leading digital bank in the Middle East, with commercial launches expected imminently.

Another standout innovation from Skunkworks is ‘Chequemate,’ an omnichannel digital cheque and signature verification suite, also leveraging the transformative power of AI. Chequemate seamlessly integrates with any bank’s core system, facilitating straight-through digital processing of cheques from customers worldwide. Its comprehensive capabilities include verifying multiple signatures, analyzing cheque attributes, MICR reading, and enhanced Optical Character Recognition (OCR), among others. A major Pakistani bank is currently integrating Chequemate into its digital channels and core systems. This cutting-edge solution has already garnered significant recognition, winning prestigious awards at the APICTA (Asia Pacific ICT Awards) and the P@SHA ICT Awards for its industry-first concept and technological prowess.

Beyond technological advancements, Covalent also celebrated the inauguration of ‘The Hub,’ a new facility meticulously designed to foster a vibrant and creative environment.
