PTA & Telcos Accelerate Telecom Restoration in Pakistan’s Flood-Hit Areas
PTA and Telcos Working to Restore Services in Flood-Hit Areas
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is diligently monitoring the telecommunications situation in flood-affected regions, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other parts of the nation.
Unfortunately, flash floods have caused considerable damage to numerous cellular and fixed-line communication sites, resulting in widespread service disruptions.
To address this, PTA teams are actively deployed on the ground, coordinating efforts with federal and provincial authorities, district administrations, and various telecom operators to ensure a rapid restoration of services.
In Buner, a crucial meeting was held by the PTA with the Honorable Minister, Mr. Ameer Muqaam, PTI Chairman Mr. Gohar Khan, Deputy Commissioner of Buner, Mr. Kashif Qayum, and senior officials from PTCL and Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs) to review and expedite recovery efforts.
The PTA, in close collaboration with all telecom operators, is dedicating every resource to restore communication services as quickly as possible, recognizing their vital role in supporting ongoing rescue and relief operations.
