Zong Extends Free Minutes and SMS to Support Flood-Affected Communities
In a compassionate move to support communities grappling with the aftermath of recent floods, Zong, Pakistan’s leading technology innovation company, has announced a relief package for its subscribers. Residents in flood-affected regions will now receive 30 free Zong on-net minutes and 30 free all-network SMS, valid for three days. This initiative aims to ensure vital communication channels remain open, allowing people to connect with family, emergency responders, and relief agencies during this critical period.
The complimentary services cover severely impacted districts, including Bagh, Bajaur Agency, Buner, Kotli, Muzaffarabad, and Swat. These areas have experienced significant disruption due to heavy rains and flash floods, leading to damaged homes and hampered essential communication.
Sajid Munir, Head of Marketing at Zong, emphasized the importance of connectivity in such times. “As Pakistan faces yet another natural disaster, Zong stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the nation,” he stated. “Connectivity is a lifeline in emergencies, and through this initiative, we aim to ensure that our customers in the affected regions can reach their loved ones and get the help they need without any barriers.”
This gesture is part of Zong’s broader commitment to supporting disaster-hit communities across Pakistan. The company remains dedicated to leveraging its nationwide infrastructure to provide both immediate relief and foster long-term resilience during times of crisis.
