PTA and Telcos Working to Restore Services in Flood-Hit Areas

In the wake of devastating flash floods that have swept across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other regions, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is working tirelessly to address widespread telecom service disruptions. Numerous cellular and fixed-line sites have suffered significant damage, cutting off vital communication links for many.

To tackle this urgent situation, dedicated PTA teams are actively on the ground. They are coordinating closely with federal and provincial authorities, local district administrations, and all major telecom operators to expedite the restoration process.

A key step in these recovery efforts was a high-level meeting held in Buner. The PTA engaged with prominent figures including the Honorable Minister, Mr. Ameer Muqaam, PTI Chairman Mr. Gohar Khan, Buner Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kashif Qayum, alongside senior officials from PTCL and various Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs). The discussions focused squarely on accelerating recovery and addressing the challenges on the ground.

Recognizing that reliable communication is absolutely critical for ongoing rescue and relief operations, the PTA, hand-in-hand with telecom operators, is committed to restoring these essential services as swiftly as humanly possible.
