PTA Announces Latest Update on Telecom Restoration & Free Calls Amid Floods
Amidst the challenging times brought by the devastating floods, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is working closely with Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs) to support affected communities across the nation.
As a key relief measure, CMOs are now offering free on-net voice calls to subscribers in flood-hit areas. This crucial initiative ensures that individuals, including those with zero balance, can maintain contact with their families and emergency services during this critical period.
Significant progress has been made in restoring vital communication infrastructure. Over 72% of the impacted telecom sites have already been brought back online. The PTA, in close coordination with CMOs, is dedicating all resources to expedite the restoration of the remaining sites as swiftly as possible.
The PTA extends its sincere appreciation to CMOs for their prompt efforts in providing essential support to telecom consumers. Reaffirming its unwavering commitment, the authority will continue to ensure uninterrupted connectivity and will diligently monitor telecom services in all affected regions, promising to deliver timely updates to the public.
