PTA and Telcos Working to Restore Services in Flood-Hit Areas

Pakistan’s telecommunication landscape in flood-affected regions, particularly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, is under close scrutiny by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). Recent flash floods have severely damaged numerous cellular and fixed-line communication sites, leading to significant service disruptions across these areas.

In response, PTA teams are actively deployed on the ground, coordinating closely with federal and provincial authorities, district administrations, and all telecom operators. Their primary objective is to ensure the swift restoration of essential communication services.

As part of these recovery efforts, the PTA recently held crucial meetings in Buner. Participants included the Honorable Minister, Mr. Ameer Muqaam, Chairman of the PTI, Mr. Gohar Khan, Deputy Commissioner of Buner, Mr. Kashif Qayum, along with senior officials from PTCL and various Cellular Mobile Operators (CMOs). These discussions aimed to review and expedite the ongoing restoration work.

Recognizing the critical importance of reliable communication for rescue and relief operations during a crisis, the PTA, in collaboration with all telecom operators, is making every possible effort to restore services as quickly and efficiently as possible.
