Acer Unveils IFA 2025 Gaming Lineup: 18-inch AI Laptop & 720Hz Monitor

Acer’s new gaming lineup includes an 18-inch AI laptop and a 720Hz monitor

Acer is making waves at IFA 2025, unveiling significant updates across both its Predator and Nitro gaming lines. Gamers, get ready for some serious upgrades, including a massive 18-inch AI-powered laptop and a ridiculously fast 720Hz monitor that’s set to redefine display performance.

Leading the charge in the high-end Predator series is the refreshed Predator Helios 18P AI. This beast builds upon the CES 2024 model, packing what Acer calls “desktop-level AI” into a portable form factor. Under the hood, you can spec it out with up to an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 laptop GPU, and a whopping 6TB of SSD storage. The visuals are just as impressive, with a Mini LED 4K panel perfect for both gaming and creative tasks. Keeping all this power cool is Acer’s custom thermal solution, combining thin metal fans, liquid metal thermal grease, and vector heat pipes.

Acer also touched on new Predator Orion 7000 and Orion 5000 gaming desktops, featuring up to GeForce RTX 5090 or 5080 GPUs respectively.

But perhaps the most eye-catching announcement for serious gamers is the new Predator X27U F8 Monitor. This 26.5-inch OLED display boasts a sharp 2560 x 1440 resolution and an insane 720Hz refresh rate – yes, you read that right, 720Hz! Acer claims the monitor can dynamically switch resolutions and refresh rates for optimal performance, and it fully supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro to eliminate screen tearing and stuttering.

Moving over to the more accessible Nitro series, Acer introduced two new gaming laptops. The Acer Nitro V 16 offers configurations up to an Intel Core 9 processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPU. Thanks to NVIDIA, it supports DLSS 4 for enhanced graphics. Its 2560 x 1600 display features up to a 180Hz refresh rate for smooth, fast-paced action. The Acer Nitro V 16S aims for more portability, also featuring up to an Intel Core 9 processor and an RTX 5070 GPU, with the same 180Hz display, all housed in a metal body that’s just 19.9mm thin.

Acer is also expanding its Nitro monitor family with several new options. For those who love a big, immersive view, the 39.7-inch curved Nitro XZ403CKR offers a 5K panel, built-in 5W speakers, and AMD FreeSync Premium. If you prefer flat screens but still want 5K, the 27-inch Nitro XV270X fits the bill with integrated 2W speakers. A step down in resolution but still bright, the 27-inch Nitro XV273U W1 features a 1440p display with 500 nits peak brightness and 2W speakers. Finally, the Nitro XV275K V6 rounds out the collection with a 27-inch 4K display, AMD FreeSync Premium, and dual HDMI 2.1 ports.

While Acer hasn’t finalized pricing or an exact launch date for the Predator Helios 18P AI laptop, it will be available in North America at launch. The groundbreaking Predator X27U F8 monitor is slated for a Q1 2026 release, priced at $1,300.

For the Nitro laptops, the Nitro V 16 is expected in the US in October, starting at $1,000, followed by the Nitro V 16S in November, starting at $1,100. All new Nitro monitors will hit shelves in Q1 2026, with prices ranging from $300 for the Nitro XV273U W1, $700 for the Nitro XV275K V6, $900 for the Nitro XV270X, and $1,000 for the curved Nitro XZ403CKR.
