Hades II is coming to Switch and Switch 2 on September 25

Get ready, fans! Supergiant Games, known for its tradition of making big Hades announcements during Nintendo Directs, has done it again. Five years after the original game launched on a Nintendo stream, Hades II is officially arriving on September 25th for both Switch and Switch 2!

While PC players have enjoyed Hades II in early access for a solid 16 months, the September 25th launch marks the full 1.0 release. Even in its pre-release state, the game has garnered over 63,000 “very positive” (and “overwhelmingly positive” in English) reviews on Steam. This full version not only brings the game to consoles for the first time but also unveils its true ending!

Although the Nintendo Direct focused specifically on the Switch versions, rest assured that PC and Mac players will also get the 1.0 update simultaneously. Keep an eye on Steam and Epic for those updates! Following the pattern of the first Hades, it’s expected that Hades II will be a timed console exclusive, meaning PlayStation and Xbox fans can likely look forward to their versions sometime in the future, even if it’s not official yet.

In this exciting sequel, players will step into the shoes of Melinoë, princess of the underworld and sister to Zagreus. Her quest? To face off against the formidable Chronos, the Titan of Time and father of Hades. Supergiant has also confirmed that the roguelike will run at a buttery-smooth 60 frames per second on the Switch 2, promising an incredible experience.
