Hades II Official Release Date: September 25 on Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PC & Mac

Hades II is coming to Switch and Switch 2 on September 25

Supergiant Games loves to make a splash at Nintendo Directs, and they’ve done it again! Five years after the original *Hades* first launched on a Nintendo stream, its highly anticipated sequel, *Hades II*, is set to release its full 1.0 version on September 25th for both Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Switch 2.

While this is monumental news for console players, *Hades II* isn’t entirely new. PC fans have been delving into the Underworld for the past 16 months through its early access phase. Even as a pre-release, the game has already garnered over 63,000 “very positive” (and “overwhelmingly positive” in English) Steam reviews, proving its quality from the get-go. The 1.0 launch won’t just mark its console debut; it will also unveil the much-anticipated true ending to the captivating story.

Naturally, the Nintendo Direct spotlighted the Switch versions, but you can rest assured that PC and Mac players won’t be left behind. These editions will launch simultaneously on September 25th. Following in the footsteps of its critically acclaimed predecessor, *Hades II* is expected to be a timed console exclusive. So, while not officially announced, PlayStation and Xbox players can likely look forward to their versions sometime down the road.

Supergiant Games has also shared some exciting technical details. *Hades II* will support an impressive 120 frames per second when the Switch 2 is docked and connected to a TV! When playing handheld on Switch 2, you can expect a smooth 60 FPS at 1080p, while the original Switch will deliver that same 60 FPS at 720p. A fantastic feature for those who game across platforms: both Switch versions will support cross-save with your Steam and Epic Games progress.

This sequel shifts the focus from the beloved Zagreus to his formidable sister, Melinoë, the Princess of the Underworld. She’s on a perilous quest to confront Chronos, the formidable Titan of Time, who also happens to be Hades’s father and quite the antagonist. Get ready for another thrilling roguelike adventure from Supergiant Games, promising endless replayability and a deep, engaging narrative.
