Ignite to Launch 9th National Incubation Center in Sialkot, Boosting Startup Ecosystem

Ignite Gears Up for Establishment of 9th National Incubation Center in Sialkot

Sialkot is about to get a major boost for its startup ecosystem! Ignite National Technology Fund is moving full steam ahead with plans to establish the 9th National Incubation Center (NIC) in this economically vibrant city. This new hub promises to foster innovation and entrepreneurship, building on Sialkot’s incredible manufacturing legacy.

For firms keen to be part of this exciting initiative, Ignite has extended the deadline to submit proposals for the establishment and management of NIC Sialkot. Mark your calendars: the new closing date is September 9, 2025. The selection process will involve a two-stage evaluation, starting with a review of technical bids, followed by financial proposals from shortlisted firms. The contract will be awarded to the highest-ranked bidder after negotiations, with an official announcement coming at least two weeks prior to finalization.

Imagine a bustling hub spanning 12,000 to 14,000 square feet, designed to host at least 25 startups concurrently, with room to grow! NIC Sialkot will be fully equipped with modern conference rooms, a dynamic session hall, recreational spaces, and high-speed internet – everything a budding startup needs to thrive. Operating on a cohort basis, the center plans to induct at least 25 startups annually. A key focus will be on diversity, with 25% of inducted startups being women-led, and a special emphasis on ventures aligned with Sialkot’s industrial strengths like sports goods, surgical instruments, and musical instruments.

Why Sialkot? The city is an economic powerhouse! As Pakistan’s fourth-largest district economy, boasting a GDP of $13 billion, Sialkot is globally renowned for its manufacturing prowess. It contributes approximately $2.5 billion annually in exports, nearly 10% of the national total. From producing over half of the world’s footballs to supplying surgical instruments to international markets and crafting high-quality leather products, Sialkot is a testament to Pakistani craftsmanship and industry. Giants like Nike, Adidas, and Puma have long relied on Sialkot’s skilled workforce and innovative enterprises.

The NIC Sialkot will proudly join Ignite’s growing nationwide network of incubation centers, established in partnership with the Ministry of IT and Telecom. With existing centers in Islamabad, provincial capitals, Hyderabad, Faisalabad, and Rawalpindi, Ignite is on a mission to ignite innovation across diverse sectors, including agriculture, textiles, cement, aerospace, and livestock. This new center in Sialkot will further solidify that mission, empowering local entrepreneurs and driving technological advancement in one of Pakistan’s most significant industrial hubs.
