Xbox Ally Handhelds Arrive October 16, Price Still Unconfirmed

Xbox Ally handhelds will be available October 16, but we still don’t know the price

Xbox gamers will soon have an exciting new way to take their favorite titles on the go. ASUS revealed at Gamescom 2025 that the highly anticipated Xbox Ally handheld consoles are set to launch on October 16. While we previously received a thorough breakdown of the specs and availability for both the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X earlier this summer, the release date is the only new piece of information shared at the major gaming event in Cologne.

The big question mark still hovering over these handhelds is the price. We’re patiently waiting for that critical detail, which we anticipate will arrive alongside pre-order information in the coming weeks. For comparison, the 2024 ROG Ally X currently sells for $800, and the original ROG Ally Gaming Console from 2023 was priced at $500. Based on these figures, we might hazard a guess that the standard ROG Xbox Ally could retail around $650, with the more powerful ROG Xbox Ally X potentially reaching a price point closer to $900.

For those eager for more insight, the Official Xbox Podcast recently featured a segment dedicated to the upcoming handhelds. Two Xbox executives discussed the devices, sharing their positive experiences playing various titles such as *Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater*, *Clair Obscur: Expedition 33*, and *Balatro*. While their enthusiasm for the hardware is certainly expected, the conversation does offer some interesting details that might satisfy your curiosity if you’re eagerly awaiting an Xbox Ally this fall.
