Zong 4G Achieves 2nd Spot in PTA Cyber Security Awards 2025

Zong 4G, a leader in Pakistan’s technology innovation, has proudly secured the 2nd position in the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Annual Cyber Security Awards 2025. This marks a significant improvement from their 3rd place ranking last year among Category-I operators, showcasing their continuous commitment to robust cybersecurity.

The prestigious recognition was announced during the Next-Gen Cyber Resilience Workshop and Telecom Cyber Security Awards 2025. Held on August 12, 2025, at the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad, the high-profile event was chaired by the Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja. The gathering brought together key telecom industry leaders to delve into critical advancements in 5G, FinTech, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and LEO Satellite Communications.

Each year, the PTA conducts thorough cybersecurity audits of all telecom stakeholders. These comprehensive assessments evaluate their readiness against evolving threats using a meticulously defined set of criteria. Zong CMPak competed in Category-I, which includes Cellular Mobile Operators and large multi-license operators, where they impressively climbed to 2nd place in 2025 after their 3rd place finish in 2024.

Zong 4G’s strong performance this year was based on several key parameters. These included exemplary compliance with Critical Telecom Data & Infrastructure Security Regulation audits, significant improvements in external attack surface management, active threat intelligence sharing with the National Telecom Security Operations Center (nTSOC), a robust showing in the National Telecom Cyber Emergency Response Team (nTCERT), and a high DNS Security (DNSSEC) validation score by APNIC.
