Zong Launches Free Minutes and SMS for Flood-Hit Regions
Zong Extends Free Minutes and SMS to Support Flood-Affected Communities
In a crucial effort to support communities impacted by recent floods, Zong, Pakistan’s leading technology innovation company, has announced a significant relief package for its subscribers. Those residing in flood-affected regions will now receive 30 free Zong on-net minutes and 30 free all-network SMS. This vital communication lifeline, valid for three days, aims to help residents stay connected with family, emergency responders, and relief agencies during this critical period.
The initiative focuses on severely impacted districts where heavy rains and flash floods have disrupted lives, damaged homes, and hampered essential communication channels. These areas include Bagh, Bajaur Agency, Buner, Kotli, Muzaffarabad, and Swat.
Sajid Munir, Head of Marketing at Zong, underscored the importance of connectivity in emergencies. “As Pakistan faces yet another natural disaster, Zong stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the nation,” he stated. “Connectivity is a lifeline in emergencies, and through this initiative, we aim to ensure that our customers in the affected regions can reach their loved ones and get the help they need without any barriers.”
Zong remains dedicated to leveraging its extensive nationwide infrastructure to provide both immediate relief and foster long-term resilience during times of crisis. This gesture is a key part of Zong’s broader commitment to supporting disaster-hit communities across Pakistan.
