Zong Extends Free Minutes and SMS to Support Flood-Affected Communities
In a heartwarming move to support communities grappling with recent devastating floods, Zong, Pakistan’s leading technology innovation company, has announced a crucial relief initiative. Recognizing the vital need for communication during crises, Zong is offering 30 free on-net minutes and 30 free all-network SMS to its subscribers in the severely impacted regions.
These complimentary services, valid for three days, are designed to ensure residents can stay in touch with their loved ones, connect with emergency services, and reach out to relief agencies without worrying about communication barriers.
The initiative specifically targets districts hit hardest by heavy rains and flash floods, where lives have been disrupted, homes damaged, and essential communication channels severely hampered. These areas include Bagh, Bajaur Agency, Buner, Kotli, Muzaffarabad, and Swat.
Sajid Munir, Head of Marketing at Zong, highlighted the company’s commitment, stating, “As Pakistan faces yet another natural disaster, Zong stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the nation. Connectivity is a lifeline in emergencies, and through this initiative, we aim to ensure that our customers in the affected regions can reach their loved ones and get the help they need without any barriers.”
